Figures from early February 2026 show over 60,000 people have enrolled in the National Lung Cancer Screening Program and completed their CT-scan to check for early signs of lung cancer since its launch in July 2025.

The National Lung Cancer Screening Program offers free, low-dose CT-scans to people aged 50 to 70 with a history of smoking and can detect lung cancer before symptoms appear. When found early, over 65% of lung cancers can be successfully treated.

The Program is already improving health outcomes for Australians. Across the country, community members are now sharing their screening stories to encourage more people to take part in the Program.

Their experiences show that whatever the result is, it’s good to know – early.
