Do you need more information or support? Below are a range of support services and resources available that can help support you through the process.

Lung Foundation Australia support line 

Lung Foundation Australia has established a lung cancer screening helpline to support participation in the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP). The helpline provides free and confidential guidance, information, and support around lung screening.

Contact: 1800 654 301 (Option 2) or email lungscreening@lungfoundation.com.au

Hours:  Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm AEST (excluding public holidays). Outside these hours, you can leave a message via our answering service, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Contact Cancer Council’s support service

Cancer Council’s 13 11 20 is a free and confidential information and support service run by Cancer Council nationally.

Specially trained staff are available to answer your questions and offer support.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

National Cancer Screening Register

The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) is the platform that stores your screening test results, sends them to your healthcare provider and sends your reminders about when to next screen. You can contact the NCSR to update your personal details, access screening reminders and get support navigating the website.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm (excluding national public holidays). 

Looking to Quit?

At any stage of your quitting journey, trained Quitline counsellors can support you.

Contact: Call 13 7848 or visit www.quit.org.au.

Quitline services across Australia also have Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander counsellors who are ready to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who want to quit smoking or vaping.

To get culturally sensitive support to quit anywhere across Australia, call 13 7848 and ask to speak with a counsellor for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.

You can also call 13 7848 and ask for an interpreter in your language.

Quitline is a welcoming, confidential counselling service that can help you quit smoking or vaping.

Translator and interpreter services

If you do not speak English well and need an interpreter for your phone call, contact the National Interpreting Service and ask them to contact the service that you want to speak to.

National Relay Service

If you’re d/Deaf or find it hard to hear or speak to people on the phone, you can contact the National Relay Service from anywhere in Australia.

Contact: You can contact them through your preferred communication channels by visiting their website.
