It's Good to Know campaign relaunches to raise awareness of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program  

The national It’s Good to Know campaign has relaunched to continue raising awareness of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP). A year on from the launch of the NLCSP, over 100,000 Australians have enrolled for a free lung scan and the campaign aims to increase participation even further among eligible people aged 50 to 70 years.  

The It’s Good to Know campaign is supported by the Australian Government and delivered in partnership with Cancer Council Victoria, NACCHO, ACON, the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative and the Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section. It will run across video, radio, social media, digital and outdoor channels nationally.  

Healthcare providers have played a vital role in helping high-risk Australians access free lung screening in the NLCSP’s first year, and with the campaign relaunch it is expected that even more patients will be presenting to primary care clinics for information and referrals.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia, however when found early, over 65% of cases can be successfully treated.
